Class Description and Prerequisites
EDGE Clinic
Prerequisite: Passed Pre-Pre skating Skills (MIF) or Pre-Pre Free or Preliminary Dances. Adults (all levels) are welcome
The focus of this clinic will be on Power, Edge Quality, Continuous flow, Steps and Turns. Emphasis will be on power, edge pressure, lean and proper body alignment.
SCHOOL FIGURES Clinic
Prerequisite: Pre-pre skating skills and above
Figures teaches skaters how to skate with clean edges, control turns, balance, and proper technique, all of which are essential as a foundation for program elements as well as for overall skating execution/performance
Why figures? Having strong foundation, knowledge and control will carry over so skaters can do clean correct turns in their leveled step sequences therefore maximizing points. We will start with basics but have skaters cater their time working on whatever turns are part of their moves tests and beyond. Even skaters that have passed all their moves tests could benefit from figures and refining technique for step sequences.”
T.E.A.M. - Together Everyone Achieves More
Prerequisite: All levels welcome
This is a skater favorite! Skaters have the opportunity to divide up in small teams for skating challenges. Skaters of all levels will enjoy participating. This has been a great way to develop skating friends and fun memories with a friendly competitive spirit.
CHOREOGRAPHY/ARTISTRY
Prerequisite: Pre-Preliminary Skating Skills (MIF) and up (may consider lower with coach recommendation)
This clinic focuses on improving component scores by developing artistry, including body alignment, posture, extensions, and flow across the ice. A great way to improve your components score, boost presentation skills and bring your program to life!
POWER
Prerequisite: Pre-Preliminary Skating Skills (MIF) and up
The power clinic will enhance and develop a skater's overall skating ability, focusing on power, technique, and strength. These clinics aim to improve aspects like stroking, edge quality, balance, and explosiveness, ultimately leading to better performance, confidence and reduced injury risk.
