THE CAROL HEISS & HAYES JENKIN'S AWARD

HONORING TWO LEGENDS. INSPIRING THE NEXT.

The Carol Heiss and Hayes Jenkins Award is presented to the Senior Ladies skater with the highest combined score, honoring two of the sport’s most iconic champions. Carol Heiss-Jenkins (the 1960 Olympic Champion, 1956 Olympic silver medalist, five-time World Champion, and four-time national champion) and Hayes Jenkins (the 1956 Olympic Champion, four-time World Champion, and four-time national champion) have set an enduring standard for excellence in figure skating. Carol’s impact extended beyond her competitive career, as she coached at Winterhurst from 1980 until 2020.

This award celebrates both Carol Heiss and Hayes Jenkin's remarkable legacy and recognizes the exceptional achievement of the top Senior Ladies competitor. The time and location of the award presentation will be announced once the schedule is finalized.

VOLUNTEER SIGN-UP

We need your help to run our Skate Cleveland competition successfully! Our competitions are our main source of extra funds to cover ice rental expenses, club activities and summer clinics. Consider volunteering and/or donating in the link below!

Registration Desk

We need people at the registration desk to help check in skaters and coaches. Volunteers at registration will also be selling tickets for the qualifying events and help direct people and answer questions.

Ice Monitors

Ice monitors stand rink side and check in skaters for their events. You will be given a clipboard with the list of skaters for the event or practice ice and you just check them in. You let the skater/s in when it is their turn to skate or practice. Dress warm!

Awards:

You will receive a list of the placements of each event from the runners. You will then call the skaters and announce their awards, give them their medals and direct them to the podium for pictures.

Runners:

Runners pick up the results from the judges and bring them upstairs to accounting. Once the results are certified, you will bring the copies to the awards table.

Younger skaters can be runners and keep track of their hours to receive volunteer credits- we are a non profit organization.
